Gone

GONE

GONE (2003) is a dance video opera set inside the bowels of a nightclub. Created in collaboration with painter Anthony DeMelas, video artist Ricardo Rivera, songstress Kristin Purcell, and a host of Philly beat-makers, Gone premiered at the 2003 Philly Fringe, amidst the crowd in a huge club. Dancers moved on the club’s stages, staircases, catwalks and bars, immersed in larger-than-life video projections, which covered the walls. The installation explored the places in which we are gone, past, lost and infatuated. Live songs interspersed dance vignettes, dj sets, and video paintings.

“Like stepping into a live painting: sexy, moving, haunting.” - Audience member

Performed by: Kristin Purcell, Rebecca Sloan, Travis Mesman, Danielle Strawmyre, Karin Bookbinder, Kate Watson-Wallace, Cricket, Monica Horowitz

Video Design by: Ricardo Rivera

Paintings in Video by: Anthony DeMelas
